Kevin Gallagher Joins Best-Met Publishing As VP

Kevin Gallagher has joined Best-Met Publishing Co. as vice president.

The veteran grocery industry publishing executive’s primary responsibilities will be to oversee Best-Met’s continued expansion into the metro New York market and to assist publisher Jeff Metzger with future strategic initiatives for the company’s three publications – Food Trade News, Food World and its annual Grocery Industry Directory. Gallagher will also help expand Best-Met’s online presence through its website –

In making the announcement, publisher Jeff Metzger stated: “I’m very excited that Kevin Gallagher is joining our team. He brings more than a quarter of a century of trade publication experience and is much admired in the food industry. I am very confident that he will not only help grow our business in the metro New York area, he will provide new ideas and strategies that will help the entire Best-Met organization grow.”

Gallagher said, “After 26 years of being associated with Modern Grocer, it is hard to believe that I would be anywhere else. However, your life does not get better by chance, it improves with change and direction.” He added, “I have long admired and respected the work of the Best-Met Publishing staff and I thoroughly and eagerly look forward to working with Jeff and the team in broadening the geographic reach of the trade publications and services into new markets.”

Gallagher, a native of Massapequa Park, NY, has been involved in the grocery business for more than 28 years, beginning with Scott Paper and then moving to Modern Grocer, the metro NY/New England trade publication, since 1986.

A graduate of ColgateUniversity, Gallagher currently resides in Monroe Township, NJ with his wife, Susan and their two children.
