Joseph Bivona has been named new executive director of Saint Joseph’s University Academy of Food Marketing replacing Bob Higgins, who announced his retirement earlier this year after an eight-year run as executive director. Bivona will begin his new job later this month.
As executive director, Bivona will lead recruitment, placement and expansion strategies for the academy, which supports the Erivan K. Haub School of Business’ (HSB) Department of Food Marketing at Saint Joseph’s.
Until he retired in June, Bivona worked for Time, Inc. for the past 29 years where he most recently served as VP-customer development for Time/WarnerRetail Sales and Marketing, a division of Time, Inc. Other jobs held at the media giant by Bivona included key account manager, national account manager and VP-national accounts.
After graduating from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, Bivona began his career at Mobil and then moved to Coca-Cola before joining Time in 1988. He has been active in a number of grocery related trade associations including the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and the Global Market Development Center (GMDC) and Making Change.
Bivona and his wife, Laura have three children – Jaime, Janine and Joseph.
